Labyrinth of cunning TV-Tip. A cheerful, good-natured, part-time whore (Brigitte Kren), who wraps men round her little finger, especially her own hapless husband (Karl Fischer). A waiter (Karlheinz Hackl) who tries and fails again and again to control his vanity. A careworn cinema proprietress (Gertraud Jesserer) who dreams of kisses that aren't just "degraded to foreplay". Two malignantly eccentric sisters (Libgart Schwarz and Bibiane Zeller), who kill time so that time doesn't kill them... In Taxi for a Corpse (Wed, 8.15 pm, ORF 2) director Wolfgang Murnberger (Come, Sweet Death) proves yet again his talent for choreographing the fragilities of life. The fact that strangled pensioners keep turning up in this labyrinth of surburban cunning (based on Edith-Kneifl´s novel Ende der Vorstellung [lit.: After the Show]) is ultimately of only marginal relevance. Murnberger exposes the characters and their hidden depths, but without betraying them. An exquisite ensemble accompanies him on this high-altitude flight of dirty Austrian realism.
